Safeguarding during School Closure due to Coronavirus
The welfare and safeguarding of all pupils continues to be our prime concern during this period. We are working through the DfE checklist regularly to make sure we are compliant with current safeguarding guidance in the light of the pandemic.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a Pentland pupil, call 01642 559609 and ask to speak to one of the following members of staff:
Mrs Dacombe, our Head teacher: Dawn.Dacombe@1exmat.org.uk
Mrs Fryett our KS2 leader: email@example.com
Miss Robinson, our KS1 leader: firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Featherstone, our SENCo: email@example.com
Mrs Nelson, Home School Worker: firstname.lastname@example.org
Designated Safeguarding Teachers
Pentland has four teachers who are trained to respond to Safeguarding concerns. They are:
Mrs Dacombe – Head of School
Mrs Fryett – Assistant Head Teacher (KS2)
Miss Robinson – Assistant Head Teacher (KS1)
Mrs Featherstone – SENCo
Home School Support
Pentland has a Home/School Worker who is able to support parents with parenting problems/concerns like fussy eaters, poor sleeping patterns, managing homework routines, and supporting parents who may be dealing with challenging behaviour. She is Mrs Nelson. Ring on 01642 559609 to talk to her. She will treat your concerns in complete confidence (unless a child is at risk of harm) and can often just be a sympathetic ear.
E-Safety is embedded into the school’s curriculum. All staff work very hard to ensure that our children are safe in the world where the internet plays such a huge part. E-Safety lessons are taught every half term and staff check regularly that children know to tell an adult if they come across anything that makes them feel unsafe online.
