Sports Premium

All pupils leaving Pentland Primary School are physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

It is expected that schools will see an improvement against the following 5 key indicators:

  1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity- kick starting healthy active lifestyles.
  2. The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for a whole school improvement.
  3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.
  4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
  5. Increased participation in competitive sport

Please see below our school document on how we spend our Sports Premium allocation.

Thank you,

Mr Luke

FA Girls’ Skill Day

Year 3, 4 ,5 and 6 girls participated in a FA skills day. The girls’ learned a wide range of football skills and they all played extremely well as a team!

A few girls have now joined the football after-school club and hopefully we will have a couple of girls joining the football team soon.

Rugby Festival

The Year 3/4 children entered a Tag-Rugby Festival competition. The children learned how to play tag-rugby correctly and the majority of the children have joined the Tag-Rugby after-school club. The children will be entering competitions with other schools during the summer term!
