We have carefully considered both the benefits of an active uniform and the financial pressures that school uniform can place on families. By moving to an active uniform:
-
There will be no need to buy separate school shoes, which we know can be particularly expensive.
-
Families will not need to purchase additional items such as skirts or trousers alongside PE kit.
-
The items of clothing in an active uniform are generally easier to wash and more practical for daily wear.
We also know that children are now playing differently through OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) and take part in daily physical activity as part of their timetable. An active uniform supports this by being comfortable, practical, and suited to their day-to-day school life.
The active uniform is compulsory for all children including Nursery.
